In order to be able to map the personnel costs incurred in a company as accurately as possible, the functionality of workforce planning was integrated into the SAP HCM software.
However, this solution has some limitations, so that an optimized software solution is required. The limitations include, for example, the lack of a modern and intuitive user interface and the insufficient integration of SAP SuccessFactors.
Possibilities for the integration of SAP HCM
Workforce planning in SAP HCM offers the possibility of creating various scenarios for the future development of personnel costs. For example, it can be assumed that more employees will be needed in a certain area in the future than is the case today. The necessary measures can then be planned with the help of workforce planning and their effects on total personnel costs simulated.
However, there are some limitations with this function in SAP HCM. One problem is that the user interface is not modern and intuitive. Another is that the integration of SAP SuccessFactors is insufficient. Another limitation is that the interfaces to all HR source systems with inventory and cost information are not optimal. In addition, workforce planning in SAP HCM is not well suited for decentralized use. Finally, reporting is not integrated, so visualizations of the effects of planned personnel measures are not possible.
